Volunteer Donations Support

Purpose:

The purpose of the role is work within a team to co-ordinate receiving, organising and distributing donations. 

Accountable to: Stability Manager

Role & Responsibilities: The role will provide practical support for receiving, organising and distributing donations accordingly to the people we support and to different departments of the project, whilst complying with health & safety and operational procedures.  

Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Primarily working in the Donations Department to organise donations and ensure these are being stored in the correct place.  

  • Support beneficiaries to choose items of clothing.  

  • Monitor stock levels of food and clothes on a regular basis. Low levels to be communicated to Stability Manager and Communications Officer. 

  • Following the “Domino Hall Information Pack” (food parcel contents, recycling list, risk assessment, daily jobs) 

  • Compliance with systems that are in place. 

  • Contribute towards development for further system compliance. 

  • Work closely with Stability Manager to identify areas for development.  

  • Compliance with health and safety standards.  

  • Maintaining a respectful, kind, and non-judgmental view at all times. 

  • Inform The Stability Manager of incidents and behaviour that contravene the organisation’s Code of Conduct. 

  • Report any hazards, breaks and incidents. 

  • Ensure lockdown procedure is followed.

  • Strong organisational skills,  

  • Compassionate, enthusiastic, good listener and self-sufficient 

  • Ability to show initiative at completing tasks independently 

Our Responsibilities: 

  • Support from paid members of staff. 

  • Training (but not limited to) in Professional Boundaries, Confidentiality, Safeguarding, Trauma Informed Care. 

  • Full in-house training of health and safety procedures will be provided during induction period. 

  • Opportunities to contribute to team meetings and Reflective Practice led by a Psychologist.
